Course

The course is a 4 mile loop with three main sections. There is a 200 ft/1 mile climb, a rolling gradual ascent with several sweeping turns, and a one mile high speed descent.

The finish line is at Oak Grove picnic area. (park map)

Auto traffic on-course is restricted to one-way, opposite to the race.

The center line rule is strictly enforced! Riders who cross the center line to pass will be disqualified!

Registration is at the Keeler Picnic Area shelter (park map), which is across from the Nature Center parking area on Chippewa Creek Drive.

Directions

Take I-77 to the S.R. 82 exit 149 and proceed east for 3.1 miles, through Brecksville and across S.R. 21 to Riverview Rd. Turn right (south) on Riverview and continue for 1/4 mile, then turn right on the Chippewa Creek Drive and proceed for 1.4 miles to parking and registration at the Keeler Picnic Area. After 7 a.m., entrance to the park is via S.R. 82 and Riverview Rd.

  • Each Field is limited to 60 riders.
  • A current USA Cycling annual license or one day license is required; Current USA Cycling license must be presented at registration. One day licenses will be available on site for an additional $10.
  • Events might be shortened based on weather or other considerations. Start times will not be moved forward.
  • Note: Though multiple fields are listed with the same start time, in fact, there will be a delay between the start of subsequent fields.

Absolutely no warm up on the course while events are in progress!

Registration

Pre-Register at Mountain Road Cycles in Chardon and Chagrin Falls and receive a free race tune-up (wheel truing, deraileur adjustments, brake adjustments).

Registration is at the Keeler Picnic Area shelter (park map), which is across from the Nature Center parking area on Chippewa Creek Drive.

Registration opens at 7:00AM. Registration for each event closes 10 minutes prior to the start of the event or when the 60 rider limit for the event is reached.

No online registration is available for this event.

Forms will be available at registration. For those of you who like to fill out a release form ahead of time: use This Form. If you have a license, leave the One Day Payment section blank.

In the "Event Date" field, enter May 16, 2010. In the "Event Name" field, enter Chippewa Creek Road Race. In the "Race/Activities Entered" field, enter the appropriate category.

Minors require the signature of a parent or legal guardian to participate in the event.

The maximum planned payout for the race will be $1000. CRC reserves the right to adjust prizes for any reason.

Payout is planned to be 6 deep in the 1-3, Masters, and Cat 4 fields. Payout in the Women's field is planned to be 3 deep.

Top 3 Cat 5's receive merchandise, courtesy of Mountain Road Cycles.

Winners receive a jersey, courtesy of Pyro Apparel.

Podium Ceremony follows immediately after each race.

Bikes and Helmets

Aero bars are not permitted.

Riders must wear an approved helmet.

Weather Considerations

This race will run rain or shine.

In the event of severe weather, such as a thunderstorm, the race will be delayed or canceled. Any decision to delay or cancel the race will be made at 8:00 AM on May 16th.
